I need advice from people who are brunette and consistently dye their hair blonde. I am a natural medium brunette with currently dark brown and somewhat damaged hair. I have been blonde before and would really like to be blonde again despite my hair's slight damage.

I have naturally dark brown hair and used to maintain blonde hair in high school. When I started going blonde, I began with heavy highlights done every 6 weeks. Each time my highlights became lighter. After the first 6 months, I began to get a double process color, where the hairstylist lightened all of my hair to a honey blonde, then added platinum highlights on top of that. Once I started getting the double process color, I had to go in for root touch ups every 3-4 weeks.

Overall, the look was very high maintenance to keep up, and I easily spent around $70-$100 each visit, which ended up being around $100-150 per month, with haircut. I had also been going to my hairstylist for 3-4 years by then, so I was paying a lot less than I would going to a different upscale salon (it could have been at least $150 per visit).

I actually died my hair blonde twice. I bought herbal essences shampoo for colour-treated hair. My hair is starting to get really wavy and frizzy though so i suggest you shouldn't do it again.

Well, If you want to dye your hair blonde then dye it because I dyed my hair blonde from medium brown hair and it looked good, but if you don't want to completely dye it then just settle with blonde highlights- I did that too.

why do u want to dye your hair blond??i've light-medium brown hair,used to have blond highlights but died them chestnut brown for a month or so,but i couldnt think of dying my whole hair blond..AND ur hair is damaged..let it "get to itself" before u die it again,and if u reaallyy want blond hair then just get highlights or u will harm ur hair more...

i used to do blonde tips on my faux hawk..for dark hair use a level 40 peroxide with blue satin developer..it cuts right through that orangish stage
