I used to have my hair blonde, then I dyed it dark. Not black, but really dark brown. I've tried dying it back blonde twice but there hasn't been much of a difference it all. I l know it's hard to do, I know it could turn orange and all that, but what should I use to get it blonde again, or what should I do. And please don't say go to a salon.

that's because dark can't be dyed out of hair, only bleach can take it out. you should get the 7th stage bleach from clairol professional, mix it with about 5 activator packets, and leave it till your hair is a light blonde/orange color. after this is done, then you need to fill it with a protein filler so your hair doesn't turn out orange or green. these can be purchased at sally beauty for about $4, and i would suggest you get a gold colored one. apply to wet hair, and wash out after 20-30 min. save a little for later to add to the dye. after your hair is dry, mix the color you chose with a 10 developer and a little bit of that protein filler, just to make the dye more potent. keep in mind if your hair turns out orangish after the bleach, you will need a green/ash based dye to cool the color down, if it is green, then you will need a gold/red based dye.

Even though you don't want to hear "go to a salon", this is by far the safest thing for you to do. If you over process your hair, it can literally melt and fall off. But I will try to help you here: go to a beauty store like Sally Beauty Supply and buy some powdered bleach, and some high-lift developer. This is the only thing that is going to lift the colour out of your hair. You may have to do this in steps, and yes you may end up with a variety of shades of orange and yellow. Good luck!
