If I dye my hair blonde will it turn orange?

Right now I dye my hair dark natural brown, but I want to dye it really blonde. (Like the lightest...if that makes any sense?)

But I'm afraid that I would dye it orange. I can dye it myself so I don't want to go to a salon. Is there a specific product anyone has used that didn't make their hair orange?

Not if you go to a professional. When you do it at home and it turns orange you didnt leave the die in long enough. On the hair color wheel orange is between brown and blond. When you dont leave the color in long enough it will turn orange. But if you keep it in a little longer than what the product instructs you to do it woulnt. You might want to use a bleach based product. I think it would just be easier for you to go to professional. Good luck!

I would becareful. Dying it blonde can fry your hair because of all of the ammonia in it. ( I know this from experience ). I used to dye my hair all of the time, when I did attempt the color blonde it turned neon orange mainly because my hair color was Fire Engine Red before I dyed it blonde. You may want to gradually go to blonde. Like dye your hair a lighter brown color, wait awhile, then go for the blonde. Good luck though.

When you buy your dye, buy a drabber too. You add it to the dye and it will stop the hair from turning orange/red. Being you are dark brown you may want to strip your hair first. Going from dark brown to light blonde is very hard otherwise.
