I wanna dye my hair blonde but I'm scared. Help!?

I have golden brown/auburn hair (result i got from removing black about 6 months ago) now i just let my roots grow out because it's not really noticable.but now i really wanna dye it blonde but i'm afraid it will turn out be orangy or bright yellow (not pale yellow like i want it). I already bought Clairol Born Blonde maxi, so if you have any tips for this to go smoothly and the way i want it to (without going to a pro) i would really appriciate it.

TAKE THAT STUFF BACK!! With your hair being that dark you will have to use some bleach to get it lightened. Go to Sallys and get some BW2 Dedusted Extra Strength and for developer get Pure White Maximum Lift 40 volume. I would get some papers or foil and a color brush so you can try a streak of hair first to see how long it will take for your hair to process to the color you like...I'm guessing you will have to leave this on for about 30 minutes but again please do the streak test and check it every 10 minutes till it turns the color you like and it will start turning orange so don't freak out just leave it on longer to let it completely process...the hair dye you have now will definately leave your hair orange tinted possibly with a pinkish/red hue. I have used that stuff and it DOES NOT work, if you want blonde please use some type of bleach and I wouldn't use anything but a 40 volume developer cause you're gonna need maximum lift to get your hair a pretty blonde.

what i would do is dye it step by step like get a shade and make it brighter everytime because your hair will probly turn orange. just do that.

at a beauty supply store they have bleach, your probably going to have to use this, otherwise your hair will turn orange. just be sure you read the directions and follow them carefully, that stuff can be pretty potent. i think you will look good blonde.
