yeah.. its confuses me... personally i think it looks really ugly... its blonde at the top[like top layer of hair] and drak brown or black on the bottom layer of hair... if you don't get... i'll find a picture.

i myself have red hair. i chose to dye part of the underneath purple. i didnt do it for attention. i did it because i wanted to be different and not like everyone else. it is somewhat fun to experiment with hair colors.

but no, i dont like the black underneath. it looks dirty.

With my experience its a need to be individualized, its preference to be different and yes it is in style.I personally think it can be cute and Im 41. I wouldnt wear it for me, but the younger generation likes to have fun and experience change. So I would have to say to each their own.

It's called minking, and it is used to give high contrast.Some do it because they like it. I personally don't like it and on really short hair,I think it can make a person look like a skunk.

okay.. i know someone who did this. She did it because it gave contrast to her skin tone.. and it looks super sexy on her... I know some people that have done green on top and black on bottom, green on top and white on bottom, red and black, and red and blonde...some people do it for contrast and others think it helps frame their face and brighten their eyes... i don't know weird answers.. i like it though
